February is American Heart Month and we’re joining the effort to raise awareness about America’s number one killer: heart disease. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, close to 600,000 people die each year from heart disease and 715,000 from heart attacks. With numbers like those, many of us know several people who have been affected by this disease, but the good news is that it can be prevented and controlled. With advances in nutritional knowledge and medical technology, we can work together to help reduce these numbers and keep our loved ones around for many more years to come.
