Wycliffe Golf & Country Club in Wellington, FL unveiled its $18.2 million dollar renovation project to the membership in November 2019, showcasing the new contemporary spaces like “The Cliffe” (bar and lobby lounge) and “Flavours” (fine dining restaurant) receiving rave reviews from both members and their guests. Surprisingly, the project was completed ahead of schedule and under budget!
Not only was the Club’s food & beverage programming improved by the addition of the aforementioned spaces, but with a phased approach, a refreshed spa & fitness center, ballroom, driving range & short game area as well as an outdoor event pavilion, were all revealed earlier in the year.
The recently renovated Driving Range and Short Game area provide the members a practice facility second to none. The driving range features a 45,000 sq. ft. range tee, covershots canopy, and multiple target greens with bunkers to simulate shots players may encounter on the course. The short game area features two greens surrounded by bunkers where a player can hit any shot imaginable inside of 60 yards. The short game area covers 1.25 acres. These two areas make Wycliffe standout for those players interested in lowering their scores.
Because of the health of the project and a prudent approach to project management expenses, there was a great deal of added value included in the finished product. The Club added a new roof to the almost 100,000 sq. ft. building, major HVAC upgrades, and a beautiful water feature in the lobby – all of which were not in the original plan.
But that’s not all that was completed throughout the construction journey. While under construction for those 18 months, Wycliffe successfully merged with its homeowner’s association, resulting in $1M in efficiencies annually, as well as a streamlined and simplified governance structure. They were also able to complete a thorough branding study to differentiate themselves in the market and highlight who they are, with brand-new contemporary facilities and programming.
“Our great team of community volunteers partnered with professionals to give us a new look that exceeded our expectations. We’re celebrating 30 years with a fresh contemporary club that fits our vibrant lifestyle,” said Susan Brenner, President of Wycliffe’s Board of Directors.
