High Season Is Coming In Costa Rica, Book A Discovery Tour Today
By Duane Overturf
This winter in the USA is destined to be colder than last years according to predictions of weather experts. If you’re like most people living in “cold country” you might be thinking of a place to get away temporarily so you can escape the freezing cold temperatures. Someplace where it’s warm and sunny and inexpensive to visit. Someplace with friendly people and not far from home. Someplace where you can experience something new and exciting. Someplace like Costa Rica that offers all of the above and more.
Costa Rica is the 2nd most popular international retirement spot in the world for Americans. Located south of the United States in central america, Costa Rica is bordered by Panama to the south and Nicaragua to the north. From many locations in the US it is a short non-stop flight. From Miami it is only a 2 1/2 hour flight. Costa Rica is a highly desirable tropical location to visit. It even has some nicknames that give one a sense of what the country is like, including the “Switzerland of the Americas” and “The World’s Happiest Country”.
Costa Rica has also topped The Happy Planet Index ranking as the most successful country in the world at balancing their use of natural resources with keeping the citizens of the country happy at the same time. It’s just one reason why Costa Rica has become such a popular place to retire, own a second home or have an investment property. Some people compare Costa Rica today to Hawaii in the early 1950’s and 1960’s when it was still reasonably priced and affordable for most people.
Costa Rica begins its “high season” in the beginning of December. It is a time of the year when the weather is literally perfect and extends into May which begins the green season, which in my opoinion is the best time of year. In fact, Costa Rica has warm weather year round and has been called touted as having the World’s Most Perfect Climate by various magazine writers. The country sits below the hurricane belt so one can put that worry out of mind. If you are visiting or living on the pacific coast, chances are you may find yourself never needing a jacket again, however, don’t throw out your rain gear as you will probably use an umbrella from time to time.
Costa Rica also offers an overall lower cost of living than one would find living comparably in the United States. Property taxes are very low and real estate along the pacific coast offers a luxury lifestyle for considerably less than one would find in sunny southern California for example. Ocean view properties with amazing custom homes can be found at reasonable rental rates and there are also resorts that cater to your every need, including some offering all-inclusive deals.
There are many adventures to be had in Costa Rica. Whether you are inclined to spend your time relaxing near a pool or on the beach or you are more interested in the abundant nature of the country you will not be disappointed. You’ll find mangrove forest tours, animal tours, bird watching, rafting, hiking and walking adventures, wildlife sanctuaries, butterfly gardens, night life, spa treatments, some of the best sport fishing in the world, scuba diving and snorkeling and more to keep you busy and enjoying life.
Most people that visit Costa Rica end up claiming it is the best vacation they have ever had. Being the eco-tourism capital of the world it is not surprising so many people return home having fallen in love with the country. At Organically Magical Villages we specialize in discovery tours. With different options depending on you and your interests we will custom tailor a visit around your specific interests and can even include visits to exciting communities along the pacific coast while you enjoy a luxury vacation that you’ll be telling your grandkids about for years to come.
