Druid Hills Golf Course was the first of the 5 courses, opening in 1970. The course is located on Fairfield Glade’s highest point, and is surrounded by breathtaking mountain views. Golf balls sail over manicured tree-lined fairways with doglegs and water throughout, Druid Hills is a true test of golf.

Just a few years later, Dorchester Golf Course opened for play. This course is a favorite among residents and guests alike, perhaps because it is more secluded than the other courses. Dorchester is also surrounded by amazing views of the area. And with 8 out of the 18 holes near water, it’ll test the ability of keeping your ball dry.

Heatherhurst Golf Club offers two for one, with two 18-hole courses in the same place: The Brae and The Crag. Golfers can expect a challenge on the first 9 holes of The Brae, hole number 4 considered by some to be the toughest par 5 in Tennessee! The Crag is a more recent course, featuring wide fairways which are ideal for short hitters.

The appropriately named Stonehenge course is a masterpiece of architect Joe Lee. Using an unspoiled tract of land in the Cumberland Plateau for his vision, he incorporated the existing native stone walls found throughout the area into the course. This unique feature only adds to the rolling, wooded beauty of the scene, and the natural rock outcroppings come into play on several of the holes.

Fairfield Glade is listed among the best Golf Retirement Communities in TN. Golf clinics and individual golf lessons are available through each club, and all the courses are open to members, guests of Fairfield Glade, and the public (with some restrictions).
