For centuries we’ve never asked the sport of golf for more than firm ground, fair rules, and a bonny walk. But, we asked way more in 2020, and the fairways took us in, gave us a place to be outside for hours on end, and kept us safe and sane.

Golf rounds in America in 2020 were up 13% against the recent average. The following two years, rounds were up 19% and 17%, respectively, an unprecedented boost. Planned amenity communities benefitted from increased golf memberships and more outside play and revenue for the semi-private clubs. So, thank you, golf and your big beautiful fairways … we owe ya!
