Front Porch of Traditional Home

Front Porch Sittin’

Front Porch Sittin’

It is that time of year again. With birds singing and the flowers blooming, you want to relax out in the open air, right at home. And where better than on your very own front porch? While porches come in all sizes, from a tiny intimate bedroom balcony with room for two, to large patios built for parties, there are plenty of styles and furniture for your specific needs.

One stylish and very comfortable lounging option is hammocks. They are ultimate when it comes to a spot to lay and rest while the springtime wind blows through your hair. While hammocks are a popular pick for porch sitting, there are also chair hammocks that can attach to your porch so you can sit up and enjoy a cool beverage while you swing in the shade. Either way you look at it, a hammock could be the perfect accessory for your porch.

If you have a large porch you would love to enjoy with friends in the approaching summer sunshine, consider a variety of outdoor furniture. There is a large assortment of outdoor dining furniture available like tables and chairs for enjoying cocktails, or maybe even consider purchasing a new outdoor couch adorned with comfy weatherproof pillows and cushions.

Cozy Outdoor FurnitureDepending on the type of porch you have (or want) determines your options for how to decorate it. The traditional front porch seems to be the most open, and are perfect for someone who wishes to be involved with their neighborhood, and relax in a more social atmosphere. If you are in need of some quiet, back porches can be a little more low key, and are perfect for those who wish to have a little bit of an escape from the real world, and they double as a great place to host small get-togethers. My personal favorite style of porch is a screened-in porch. They still allow you to enjoy the beautiful spring weather, all while keeping uninvited pests out of your way. This makes for a perfect dining area or even an outdoor living room.

No matter what your choice is, being able to enjoy the spring and summer weather from you own porch is most important. If you are adding a porch to your home, or just sprucing up your old one, take your time, and put it together just the way you want it. After all, it is your personal place of relaxation.
