THE SOUTH CAROLINA LOWCOUNTRY

The South Carolina Lowcountry is home to country-club communities and golf destinations that are second to none. The Charleston area features seaside links at Wild Dunes Resort, plus Charleston National and RiverTowne in Mount Pleasant. The Links at Stono Ferry, two Seabrook Island courses, and five superb layouts like the renowned Ocean Course at Kiawah Resort are just south of the city. Down the coast is world-famous Hilton Head Island, with its upscale oceanfront resorts and 40+ golf courses. Sea Pines Resort features the acclaimed Harbour Town Golf Links that hosts the PGA TOUR’s RBC Heritage Classic every spring.

Amelia National, FL

FLORIDA’S FIRST COAST

Florida’s First Coast of Golf is an every-season destination with 70+ courses along 100 miles of Atlantic shoreline. Amelia Island offers 99 holes on five seaside courses, highlighted by Amelia National and two OMNI Resort layouts. Ponte Vedra Beach features the Sawgrass Resort with THE PLAYERS Stadium Course and its famous No. 17 island green, plus the exquisite Ponte Vedra Inn with its Ocean and Lagoon courses, and The Yards, an innovative 12-hole design with six par 3s. At the World Golf Village near St. Augustine, you can enjoy all the local amenities and play on the King & Bear and Slammer & Squire courses. Hammock Beach Resort is set along one of Florida’s best coastlines, with the sea breezes in play on The Ocean Course and The Conservatory.

CENTRAL FLORIDA

Best known as a summer vacation destination with huge family-fun amusement parks, the Orlando area in central Florida also has nearly 200 golf courses. Bay Hill, Shingle Creek, Southern Dunes, and Celebration are among the top-rated local clubs that welcome visitor play. You’ll also find two or more on-site courses at destinations like Reunion Resort, Orange County National, OMNI Orlando Resort, Mission Inn Resort, and the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club. And you can also play in nearby Ocala or in Citrus County.

 

Citrus Hills, FL

SOUTHWEST FLORIDA

About half of the 150 championship courses in the southwest Florida Gulf Coast region are private and semi-private layouts in the area’s thriving residential communities. The rest welcome visiting golfers in all four seasons, including premier resorts like the Ritz-Carlton Sarasota, Hammock Bay, and Naples Grande. In addition to the Nicklaus signature design at Old Corkscrew in Estero, Sarasota area favorites include the Venetian, Waterlefe, Riverwood, and University Park courses. Down the coast between Fort Meyers and Naples are dozens of top-tier destinations like Tiburon Club, Lely Resort, Valencia, Raptor Bay, and Arrowhead, while Ave Maria is home to The National and Panther’s Run.

 

PHOENIX — SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA

The Phoenix-Scottsdale area is Arizona’s year-round golf destination that offers sunny play on more than 200 courses in the region. Among the top-rated and most scenic layouts are Quintero, Ak-Chin Southern Dunes, Sunridge Canyon, and Eagle Mountain. The high-desert region also features a number of outstanding 36-hole sites like TPC Scottsdale, Troon North, Grayhawk, Boulders Club, Talking Stick, and We-Ko-Pa. Throughout the entire Phoenix-Scottsdale area, you’ll find world-class resorts with upscale amenities that include fine-dining restaurants and destination spas for soothing relaxation after a day on the links.
