The 2010 Ideal Living Home at Achasta in Dahlonega, GA is a paired home with panoramic views of the walkable Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course. The home will feature smart construction built by Linger Longer Homes. The home will showcase a variety of environmentally friendly and energy efficient features.  The sustainable initiative is under the direction of Johnna Barrett with SUSTAINhouse an expert in the latest green products.

Achasta, by the developers of Reynolds Plantation, serves as a steward of the natural environment and this includes a commitment to low impact construction and design. The Ideal Living Home will utilize the LP TechShield Radiant Barrier in order to reduce energy costs. These barriers work by preventing radiant heat from entering the attic, helping the home stay cooler and reducing air conditioning costs up to 17%.

The interiors of the fairway home will continue the green theme with bedding from ecoEMPORIUM and sustainable wood furniture from Southern Heritage Woodworks.  Their reclaimed wood flooring will also be featured in living areas throughout the home.  Kohler fixtures will be included throughout with water saving features and recycled content.

Orchid Ceramics green collection will be showcased with their porcelain, ceramic tiles, and glass mosaics. The ECO by Cosentino countertops will have a durable surface made of 75% recycled content. Mythic Paint, which is known for its non-toxic products, will be used throughout the home.

The outdoor living space will showcase Trex decking which uses recycled sawdust and used pallets to produce their decking.  Trex does not cut down any trees to manufacture their product and 7 out of 10 recycled grocery bags in the US end up at Trex for use in their recycled products.

We will also feature sustainable products from Schrock Cabinetry, Universal Forest Products, Lennox, and Kitchen Aid appliances.
